Leaders of the Movement

"The first responsibility of a leader is to define reality. The last is to say thank you. In between, the leader is a servant." ~Max Depree

The leaders of the Movement were not only leading a race, they were leading an entire nation. Whites and blacks alike were leading the movement as well as getting involved in the protests.

Forms of protest they would use were marches, boycotts, voter-registration drives and many more!

While there are many great leaders during this time, the four that are most important in my opinion are W. E. B. Du Bois, Rosa Parks, Thurgood Marshall and Martin Luther King Jr.

To read short biographies on these four people, click on their name in the drop-down menu under Leaders of the Movement.
